The ON&P is an all volunteer railroad built on the Glenn County Fairgrounds. The train travels past the original Orland Southern Pacific depot (Built in the 1800's) through the railroad yard. Along the route you will pass cattle pins and into the Dead Owl Station and picnic area. As your journey continues you will pass demonstration orchards (displaying the four main crops of Glenn County ) and on to the Heritage Trail which takes you by a one room school, blacksmith shop, through a tunnel, over a trestle and through farmland that becomes a pumpkin patch in the fall.

About The Train

  • The railroad is modeled after 3 foot narrow gauge railroads of the turn of the century at a scale of 5 inches to the foot.
  • The locomotive is a steam powered replica of a 1876 Baldwin 8-18c4-4-0.
  • The cars are early wooden gondolas (carrying 8 adults or 10 children) or a wooden covered excursion car that looks like an early cattle car.
  • The caboose is a replica of a Rio Grande Southern
  • All rolling stock is as close to scale as possible.
